2022 will be the year I dare greatly.
I wrote a letter to myself that I'll read at the very end of 2022. It's like a love letter to the Melinda I'm going to work to become. It's written as if my goals have already happened, as if I've actually accomplished all the things I want to do.
I know to some it can feel cheesy to have new years resolutions.
"Why do it. I know I wont stick to it anyway," I used to say.
But I've learned change happens to me no matter what. Something about life makes it impossible for me to remain as I am. So why not embrace it and try to control what I can. Why not create a rough road map where at least the end goal is defined?
I know where I am today and I know where I want to be a year from now.
How do I get from there to here?
Well, that's the exciting part. I have some ideas, I've got some things to do, some things to change, but I believe if I can just show up everyday that will be a big part of the journey. You can't move if you don't start walkin'.
Cheers to 2021 and all the beautiful things that came about (I got a new baby so my year was particularly beautiful).
Cheers to 2022, the year I turn 30, the year I dare greatly.
