Self portraits have become something I really cherish.
I have found great value being in front of the camera . . . just by myself.
The camera is an intimidating tool but it’s one I love each time I use it.
I’ve never documented a pregnancy through trimester portraits before, mostly because for my other two pregnancies I couldn’t stand how I looked. I struggled to see the beauty in myself as my body changed.
I have struggled a little this time but mostly I like how I look!
I like my growing belly, the size of my breasts, the taper of my hips- I see so much of it as something . . . beautiful and worthy of remembering.
I see me and this time as valuable.
And me and my camera get to celebrate it all!
I know getting in front of the camera is hard.
But do it.
Be remembered! Get those selfies with your kids, ask people to snap a few pictures at events, set a timer and get those family church pictures.
Just be in them.
And then, one day, have an experience that is more than just snapping pictures haphazardly. But a true honoring and celebration of you, your goodness, your beauty, and your value.
Until then, be in pictures because you are valuable enough to be seen ❤️
Love,
Melinda
