The Woman Who Reflects Light

Some people radiate. 

Tiffany didn’t just bring her outfits and ideas, she brought enthusiasm and creativity. 

From the moment she stepped into my remade garage studio here in Ulster, Pennsylvania, she was pure joy. Loud in the best way, laughing freely, open-hearted, and easy to listen to. She smiled through every moment, and at one point I said out loud what I couldn’t stop thinking. "Tiffany, you reflect light. The light in you and the light in the world gets magnified when you are involved. You literally spread light."

And she does. 

Every image we made together shimmered with her spirit. 

Tiffany came in with an incredible hot pink showgirl outfit- bright, bold, feathery, big, and fully her.

“I’ve always loved the Las Vegas showgirls,” Tiffany told me. “I think they’re so beautiful. I’ve always wanted to dress up as one.” Her excitement was contagious. “I just want you and your makeup artist to bedazzle me!” she laughed. “It’s gonna be so fun, and I trust you.”

That trust means everything. It allows me to create something deeper than just pictures that live on the backroll of Instagram. With trust, I can create lasting art that holds the test of time and attention. 

And for Tiffany, this experince was more than just play, it was a celebration of her own strength, joy, and beauty.

A native of Vestal, New York, Tiffany lives with daily pressures that would wear away a weaker woman's shine. She works in a law firm and is raising a five-year-old daughter who is non-verbal and autistic. But Tiffany doesn’t carry bitterness, she carries joy. “Between my yoga mat and my running shoes, I can steady myself,” she said. “I tell myself, if I can handle these things, then I can do yoga or go on a run.”

It’s that kind of understanding that comes from practice and support.

“My mom has always told me I have a heart of gold,” she shared. “I think it’s my faith that makes me who I am. I’ve had to learn balance, and learn to meditate. Doing that has brought me the most peace.”

Tiffany lives with an open heart, always looking for ways to brighten the world. “I love to make people happy. I love to make people smile. Life is hard. If people could be happier, this world would be better. And happier people live longer too!”

Tiffany's strength runs generational.

Her mother served in the military, and when Tiffany needs courage, she reaches for camo.“When I’m going to do something tough, I wear camo. It makes me feel strong. I feel like I hear my mom cheering for me to keep going.”

By the end of our session, Tiffany was glowing. Pink feathers floated around us as we all took a deep breath and smiled because we KNEW we created something that was gonna stop traffic. 

Tiffany saw her printed portraits a few weeks later and couldn’t stop smiling. “I’m just so happy with everything,” she said. “Seeing myself like this... it’s incredible.”

And that’s what I hope every woman experiences here- feeling seen. 

Feeling strong. 

Feeling the light they carry, reflected back to them.
