Watching people grow and progress is perhaps one of the greatest blessings of friendship.
You guys know Ben and Madison Harding. You've seen their pictures.
I've known these two for over 3 years. That's a long time to watch two teenage kids grow into brave and confidant adults.
I have put incredible amounts of trust in Ben and Madison. In fact, we call Madison our 'sparent' (spare parent) because she takes care of and has developed such a deep connection with our children. In fact, for a long time, our daughter would say 'my Madison'. We look at the Harding Family as . . . well, family.
So why this personal post on my business page?
. . . I don't know. But I feel like you need to hear about what these two are going to do. It's easy to look at the world and believe it's full of selfish, single-minded people. But I tell you it is not. I believe the world is full of people like this. People who choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong.
Ben and Madison will be leaving in September to do one of the greatest and bravest and selfless things I can think of. They are leaving their home, family, and friends to go on a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ben goes to a different continent and Madison has to learn a new language. They are going to teach about love, hope, redemption, faith, charity, peace, eternal families, and worth and value to the highest degree. They are going to spread a joyful message and they do it at great personal and emotional cost.
. . .
They don't do it because they get any high acclaim. There is no badge of honor, no money they get, no special attention (unless you count this ;) ). They do this because they have a strong knowledge of the good this news will bring.
The world is not full of dark people spreading evil and sadness. I believe there are only a few who do that.
But more than that, I KNOW the world is full of good people doing good things.
